LG launches new products ahead of Onam festival in Kerala
Kochi, July 24 (UNI) Ahead of the Onam festive season in Kerala, LG Electronics India Private Limited (LGEIL), a leading manufacturer of consumer durables in the country, today launched new products in the high-end segment with an aim to garner Rs 150 crore for the season.
Talking to newspersons here, LGEIL Vice-President (sales) Girish V Rao said the company was launching a new series of LCD televisions and a slew of new models in home theatre systems, audio systems, refrigerators and washing machines.
''Kerala has always been a priority state for LG and the launch of this new offer is an endeavour on our part to renew and strengthen our relationship with the customers in the state,'' he added.
Mr Rao said the company was targeting a sales of 1,75,000 units in this festive season with a growth rate of 30 per cent and the total sales turnover was pegged at Rs 150 crore.
The LCD televisions in two series, LC 4 and LC 7, with high dynamic contrast ratio were in the price range of Rs 76,000 and Rs 91,000, he said.
Besides, the company was introducing eight to nine new models of televisions, refrigerators and washing machines with exclusively new features at compatible prices, Mr Rao said.
The company had a robust half-year with the total sales turnover touching Rs 5,000 crore and was on the right track to achieve the target of Rs 9,500 crore at the end of this financial year, he said.
LGEIL South Regional Manager Prashant K Das said the Kerala market, expected to grow at a rate of 40 per cent this fiscal, would touch Rs 400 crore during the period.
