Home Minister reviews law and order situation in Goa

Panaji, July 24 (UNI) Goa Home Minister Ravi S Naik today reviewed the law and order situation in the state at a high-level meeting with chief secretary J P Singh and Director General of Police P S Brar at the Porvorim secretariat complex.

He has reportedly directed officials not to spare any foreigner overstaying in the state or those indulging in drug trafficking and other related offences on the beaches.

The Home Minister also reviewed the crime situation and the progress in detection of cases related to murders, dacoities, robberies and rapes.

He was keen that the investigating officers coordinated with the prosecuting agencies and stressed the need for increased patrolling.

The minister had asked authorities to depute a team to Mumbai to study the system of checking cyber crimes. He had earlier witnessed a presentation of Ketan Mehta from Nasik on Cyber Security aspects.
