Haneef turns emotional on seeing daughter's photo
Bangalore, July 24 (UNI) Indian doctor Mohammed Haneef, under custody in Australia for his alleged support to the failed Glasgow airport attack, broke down as he embraced the photo of his new born child, Haneef's wife Firdous Arshia said today.
Talking to newspersons here, Ms Arshia said Imran Siddiqui, Haneef's cousin, met the Indian doctor at the Wolston Correctional Centre near Brisbane earlier today.
''Imran told me that Haneef cried with joy when he saw the photograph of his less than a month old child Hania. Haneef was in good health and he was mentally strong to cope up with the testing situation. He would make efforts to meet Haneef again later,'' she said.
However, Ms Firdous said her cousin did not mention anything about jottings in Haneef's dairy, which had created a major controversy in Australia.
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) was accused of allegedly entering the names of Kafeel and Sabeel Ahmed into the chiary, his two cousins, who were involved in the attack.
Meanwhile, Haneef had come to the rescue of the AFP saying that they had not entered any names in his diary.
Ms Firdous said it was an emotional reunion between Imran and Haneef.
Mr Imran had told Haneef that they knew he was innocent and justice would be done.
