Centre wants to facilitate Posco Steel project in Orissa: Paswan

New Delhi, July 24 (UNI) Steel Minister Ram Vilas Paswan has said Government wants to facilitate the Posco steel project in Orissa.

Mr Paswan expressed this view when the Korean Ambassador in India Peak Young Sun called on him here today.

Welcoming the investment programme, Mr Paswan said the Government has set up an Inter-Ministerial Group headed by the Steel Secretary to expedite the implementation of large steel projects.

He said Korean companies like Hyundai, Dusan, Samsung and Posco have vast experience in heavy engineering and construction. They can participate in the expansion programme of Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) and Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL).

The Korean envoy said this is the single largest overseas investment proposal for India and sought the cooperation of the Minister in this regard. He also invited the Minister to visit Korea.
