Callousness of police force Dubai bound passenger miss flight

Kolkata, July 24 (UNI) A Dubai-bound passenger missed his flight today because of a ''faux pas'' made by the police.

Sandip Gupta was to fly the Air Emirates to Dubai from the Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Internationl airport. But when he arrived to check-in the immigration authorities detained him. Becasue he was being wanted by the Jadavpur police station in an alleged torture case. He was subsequently handed over to the NSCBI airport police station by the immigration authorities.

But when the NSCBI airport police station informed its Jadvapur counterpart to take charge of the detained person, it was learnt that the case against Gupta had been already resolved and he was no longer wanted by the police.

It was learnt that the Jadavpur police station had not informed its NSCBI counterpart about latest development and hence the harrassment and traumatic detention for hours.
