World premieer of 'Gandhi: My Father' for building 4 schools in J

New Delhi, July 23 (UNI) Combining entertainment with social cause, noted actor Anil Kapoor and renowed painter Satish Gujral joined hands to build four schools in quake-affected regions of Jammu and Kashmir before winter sets in this year.

Working under the aegis of NGO 'Plan India', Anil Kapoor plans to hold world premieers of his forthcoming movie 'Gandhi: My Father' in South Africa, Belgium, England and the US even as Satish Gujral has chipped in with a painting on the movie, to make the 'dream' happen.

On his contribution to the cause, Mr Gujral said the piece of art made on the movie depicts conflict between Mahatma Gandhi and his son.

''I was so moved after watching the movie that I thought of putting my sentiments on canvas. It was a satisfying experience.'' Mr Anil Kapoor said associating with the cause that helps children and takes care of their well-being itself was reason enough to lend a helping hand, and with Mr Gujral and Akshaye Khanna offering their supports things became easy for him.

''A special screening of the film would be held on August 1 in Delhi and the proceeds from it, along with that received from the auction of the painting, would go for the noble cause of building four schools in Kashmir before this winter.'' On the day's visit to children in the city, as part of the 'charity', film star Akshaye Khanna said he was deeply moved seeing their lot.

''It was a humbling experience because being among them, I learnt how much needs to be done for them.'' 'Plan India', involved in child welfare programmes since 1979 across 12 states, supports children in difficult circumstances and serves as a platform to raise funds for their well-being, said its Executive Director Bhagyashri Dengle adding that the presence and contribution by Anil, Akshaye and Mr Gujral was in consonance with Mr Anil Kapoor's ideal of making 'cinema with a social face'.
