Tributes paid to Tilak on his 151th birth anniversary today

New Delhi, July 23 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh led the nation in paying tributes to freedom fighter and educationist Lokamanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak on his 151th birth anniversary today.

UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Rahman Khan, union ministers Pranab Mukherjee, Shivraj Patl, T R Baalu, Dr Subbarami Reddy and a host of MPs paid floral tributes at his portrait in the central hall of Parliament.

Booklet, both in Hindi and English, containing the profile of the great patriot was also brought out on the occasion.
