Roshan fails to identify man accused of firing at him

Mumbai, July 23 (UNI) Bollywood film producer Rakesh Roshan today failed to identify the suspect who had been earlier arrested for allegedly trying to murder him in 2000.

The senior Roshan today appeared before ad hoc Additional Sessions Court Judge P R Belorkar at Sewree court, in response to the witness summons order served upon him by the court.

Mr Roshan told the court that the incident occurred so quickly that he was not in a position to recognise and identify the accused.

The Santacruz police had recently arrested notorious gangster Satish More for his involvement in the case.

A total of five suspects were arrested. Out of these five, four were earlier discharged by the trial court because even then Mr Roshan could not identify them.

On January 21, 2000, five shooters associated with gangster Ravi Poojary made an unsuccessful attempt on the life of Rakesh Roshan by firing several rounds at him at his Santacruz office, after he refused to give-in to the extortion demand from the underworld.
