Policemen rape housewife in Rajouri

Jammu, July 23 (UNI) Two policemen were arrested today for allegedly kidnapping and raping a young housewife in the bordering Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

Two policemen, identified as constables Mohammad Shabir and Ghulam Abbas, allegedly kidnapped and raped a 19-year-old resident of Choudhary Nar village on Friday night, sources said.

The victim, who had attempted suicide by consuming some poison pills after the incident, was discharged later from hospital yesterday.

In her statement, she named the two policemen alleging that they were stalking her for the last few days and were passing obscene remarks at her.

An investigation is on.
