Lapang congratulates first woman President

Shillong, July 23 (UNI) Meghalaya Chief Minister D D Lapang congratulated Pratibha Patel for being elected as first women President of the country.

In his message Mr Lapang conveyed his heartiest congratulation to Pratibha Patil on her successful election as the 13th President of India.

Mr Lapang also expressed his confidence that the country will achieve rapid progress and prosperity under her able guidance.

Mr Lapang would also look forward to her visit to the state.
