Income Tax raids on two land developers in Nagpur

Nagpur, July 23 (UNI) Income Tax department sleuths carried out simultaneous raids on the premises of two prominent land developers here today.

The raids were carried out at a total of 20 premises, including offices and residences, of the land developers since early this morning, and were likely to continue for a while, an official of the department told UNI.

Officers were conducting searches at seven premises and surveys at three premises of one land developer and searches and surveys at five premises each of the other, she said.

The raids were being carried out on suspicion that the developers had conducted several illegal transactions related to purchase and sale of real estate in and around the city, she added.
