ICAI-Canada studying feasibility of Mopa-Dabolim airport plans: CM
Panaji, July 23 (UNI) Two experts of the Canada-based International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) have been studying the techno-economic feasibility relating to the co-existence of Dabolim airport and the proposed Mopa International Airport, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat told the State Legislative Assembly today.
Replying to a starred question of Laxmikant Parsekar (BJP), Mr Kamat said the feasibility report, likely to be ready by mid next month, would be submitted to the six-member high level committee headed by Goa Chief Minister, appointed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for assessment and evaluation of the issues involved.
The Union Ministry of Civil Aviation had appointed the committee on the advice of Mr Singh. It has so far held four sittings since February last year. Apart from Chief Minister, other members of the committee include three MPs from Goa, its chief secretary and joint secretary of the civil aviation ministry, he added.
