Haneef yet to see his baby girl's photo
Bangalore, July 23 (UNI) Languishing in solitary confinement at a detention centre in Sydney, Dr Mohammed Haneef, an accused in the failed Glasgow Blast Case, was yet to see the photograph of his new born girl carried by his relative Imran Siddiqui, now in Australia to meet Dr Haneef.
A cousin of Haneef's wife Firdous Arshiya, Mr Siddiqui reached Australia over the weekend to give 'moral support' to the Indian doctor whose visa was withdrawn. The case had been posted to August 31.
He is carrying with him a photograph of Hania, the less than a month old baby of the Haneefs. Mr Siddiqui is waiting for permission from jail authorities to meet Dr Haneef.
''It might take another couple of days for my cousin to meet Haneef. He (Siddiqui) told us it will take some time to get permission,'' Ms Arshiya told the media at her residence in BTM Layout in the city today.
Mr Siddiqui informed the family that support for Dr Haneef was growing even in Australia with various groups pressing for his release.
''All want Dr Haneef to be released as he is innocent. There has been rallies and protests not just by human right groups but ordinary people as well,'' she added.
