Directions for disposal of compassionate appointment-related cases

Bhopal, July 23 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government today told the Assembly that directions have been issued for earlier disposal of compassionate appointment-related cases.

In a written reply to Mr Indrajeet Kumar (Congress), Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said rules related to compassionate appointments had been simplified. Following this, 387 applications have been disposed.

In reply to a question by Mr Vanshmani Prasad Verma (SP), Mr Chouhan said as home guards are voluntary workers, there was no proposal for regularising them like police constables.

The Chief Minister informed that two or more two-wheelers are stolen everyday on an average from Bhopal. Last year, 886 two-wheelers and 109 three-wheelers or four-wheelers were stolen.

Besides 153 cases of loot, 75 cases of rape, 37 abductions, 68 murders and 86 attempt to murder cases were registered.

In a written reply to Mr Haricharan Tiwari, Mr Chouhan said Lokayukta had submitted corruption-related chargesheets against 602 officials from 2002 to May 2007.

Before February 26, 2007, there was a provision for suspending an official if a chargesheet was submitted in a court.

Later, these provisions were amended and suspension could be carried out only if chargesheet was presented after approval from the prosecution.
