CPM to contest eight seats in Punjab MC polls
Chandigarh, July 23 (UNI) The Punjab unit of CPM will contest eight seats in the Municipal Corporation polls, in alliance with the CPI.
The party will contest two seats each in Ludhiana and Jalandhar, three seats in Amritsar and one in Patiala, CPM State Secretary Balwant Singh said at a media conference here today.
Mr Singh said the CPI will also put up its candidates in the four cities. The CPM is open to seat adjustments with all secular parties, he said when asked whether the party will go in for any form of understanding with the Congress in the polls.
