Centre approves seven out of 15 SEZs for Goa: CM
Panaji, July 23 (UNI) The Centre has approved seven out of 15 Special Economic Zones (SEZs) proposed by the government of Goa.
In a written reply to the BJP opposition leader Manohar Parrikar, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat told the State Legislative Assembly that the State envisaged generation of employment potential of about 3.12 lakh persons over a five-year-period under the SEZ's.
The government, he said, had formulated the SEZ policy on the basis of the rules under the SEZ Act, 2005.
The Board of Approval, Union Ministry of Commerce had conveyed its approvals in respect of seven SEZ's so far, he added.
