Vimal to unveil new logo, stores
New Delhi, July 22: In a major repositioning of its corporate and brand image, Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Textiles (Vimal) has said it will come out with a new logo and set up exclusive Vimal retail stores pan-India.
''The new logo is ready and will be unveiled when we open our new shops in the end of next month,'' said Vimal Textiles Vice-President,(Marketing) Chetan Desai.
The retail chains in fabric and garments across India is timed to open coinciding with the festive season. Eighty per cent of Vimal's sales are from Kolkata and the new retail shops are set for opening around the festival of Durga puja.
Mr Desai said the company has tied up with an English architect with expertise in retail concepts but declined to comment on the name or the investments made to set up the stores.
''The stores will provide a new experience for our customers.
We will focus on the younger generation through innovation in our brands and fabrics and at the same time retaining the formal outlook to appeal to the older age group,'' Mr Desai added.
He said the company's exports were being hit by the rupee appreciation much like any other textile exporter.
