Two civilians shot dead in Asom

Guwahati, July 22 (UNI) Two people, including a woman, were shot dead by armed miscreants in separate incidents in Asom.

Police today said a bullet-ridden body was recovered at Singhipar near Balipathar in Bokajan in Karbi Anglong district.

Police said the tribal woman was kidnapped by armed Adivashi Nationalist Liberation Army (ANLA) cadres last night suspecting her to an informer.

In another incident, a trader was shot at by a surrendered ULFA cadre near Dispur police station last night.

The trader succumbed at the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital today.

The suspected militant was absconding but his car had been seized, police added.
