Six 'baraatis' killed, 8 injured in accident in Haryana

Jind, July 22 (UNI) Six members of a marriage party were killed and eight others injured when the jeep carrying them collided head-on with a truck near Suchakhera village on the Hissar-Chandigarh road this morning, police here said.

The mishap took place when the they were returning to Mani Majra in Chandigarh after solemnising the marriage of Vinod Kumar. The driver of the jeep lost control as a result the vehicle which rammed into a truck coming from the opposite direction.

The victims included Vijay, Giani and Bunty from Mani Majra, Sunil Kumar of Jind and driver Chattarpal. The injured were admitted to the civil hospital at Hissar.
