Ramoji Rao accepting deposits is patent illegality, says MP

Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, July 22 (UNI) Lok Sabha MP from Rajahmundry and AICC Secretary U Arunkumar today termed as 'patent illegality' the action of Media Baron Ramoji Rao accepting public deposits to the tune of over Rs 2,500 crore as kartha of Hindu undivided family.

In a chat with reporters here, Mr Arunkumar alleged Mr Rao violated the Reserve Bank guidelines while accepting public money for deposits.

Dismissing charges of animosity towards Mr Rao, he said "my duty ended with drawing the attention of the union finance minister to the flagrant breach of law." Stating the issue was not related to press freedom, he charged the Congress Government in Andhra Pradesh with being slow in taking action against the media king.
