Police launches drive against defaulter loanees
Kishanganj, Jul 22 (UNI) Kishanganj police have ordered the filing of FIRs against the bank managers, field officers and guarantors after several bank loanees remained untraced at their provided addresses.
Kishanganj Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar Sinha said here today that at least 16 people, who had obtained loans to the tune of Rs 86 lakhs from different banks, were traceless.
Despite massive search operations, these loanees could not be traced, the SP disclosed adding that since a large sum was involved, the police was asked to file the FIRs.
Meanwhile, the concerted drive against the defaulters yielded rich dividends.
The bank loaness, who were allegedly delaying the repay of loans for several years, had been compelled to cough up the loans with the stipulated interest, Mr Sinha said.
He further added that Rs one crore had so far been recovered from the habitual evaders adding that the drive, which had proved very effective against the defaulters, would continue.
