One Maoist killed, two arrested

Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, July 22 (UNI) One Maoist was killed and two others were arrested in police encounter near Rachakondavagu village in Prakasham district today.

The district Superintendent of Police Vinit Brijlan told newspersons that the special police came into contact with the Naxals, during combing operations. Police asked the Maoists to surrender.

The armed Naxals opened fire on the police. In retaliation, police opened fire on them and one Naxal was killed on the spot.

One Tapancha and two kit bags were recovered from the spot.

Exchange of fire was continuing.
