National Wage Boards for journos to meet in Kochi

Kochi, July 22 (UNI) The two National Wage Boards for working journalists and other for newspaper employees, set up by the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment, will hold meeting here on August 2.

According to an official release, the boards, chaired by Mr Justice (rtd) K Narayana Kurup, would be meeting the representatives of newspaper establishments, working journalists and non-journalists newspaper employees and other persons, if any, interested in the fixation or revision of wages of working journalists and other newspaper employees.

As stipulated in Section 10 (1) and (2) of the Working Journalists and Other Newspaper Employees (Conditions of Service) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1955, newspaper establishments and working journalists and other persons interested in the fixation or revision of rates of wages of working journalists, may make such representations as they may think fit, the release added.
