Monsoon weak over Coastal Karnataka

Bangalore, July 22 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.

Monsoon was weak over Coastal Karnataka.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka; at many places over South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Karwar 7.

Other chief rainfall amounts (cm): Kota, Bangalore City 5 each; Gadag, Hessarghatta, Bangalore Airport 4 each; Karkala, Honavar, Ankola, Agumbe, Thondebhavi 3 each; Mulki, Shirali, Bangarpet, Sira 2 each; Mudibidre, Panambur, Bhatkal, Yellapura, Dharwad, Shiggaon, Guttal, Talaguppa, Shikaripur, Chintamani, Santhebennur 1 each.

Forecast valid until Tuesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka; at many places over South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at most places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada districts. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over remaining districts of the State.

Heavy rainfall Warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Forecast for Bangalore city: Generally cloudy with a spell of rain/thundershower.
