Mild tremors jolt temple city of Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, July 22: A mild tremor measuring 3.5 on the Richter Scale rocked some parts of this temple city tonight causing panic among the residents.

Met sources said the tremor recorded at 2204 hrs and located 27 km away from the Seismological Centre of Bhubaneswar lasted for a few seconds and was felt in Khandagiri and its surrounding areas besides Shailashree Vihar, Nayapali and unit-8 areas of the capital.

People in these areas said suddenly every thing in their house started trembling with in the impact of the tremor. However, no damage to any structures were reported from any parts of the city so far.
