Meghalaya governor congratulates the first woman President

Shillong, Jul 22 (UNI) Meghalaya Governor Banwari Lal Joshi today congratulated Pratibha Patil for being elected as the country's first woman President.

In his message, Mr Joshi said the people were looking forward to achieve rapid progress and prosperity under her guidance.

Mr Joshi also invited Ms Patil to visit the state soon.

Ms Patil would be sworn as the 13th President on July 25 in the Central Hall of Parliament.

Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee President O L Nongtdu also congratulated Ms Patil for her feat.
