Man commits suicide after fight with family members

Kolhapur, July 22 (UNI) A man committed suicide after severely beating his wife, daughter and grand child in the powerlom town of Ichalkarnaji in this district today.

The deceased Mahavir Mali (55), a powerloom worker from Datar Mala locality of Ichalkaranji, had a quarrel with his wife Malu, daughter Pradnaya and later beat the two and his grand child Sidhi and killed himself by hanging from a rope, police sources said.

On hearing the quarrel, neighbours came forward to find the three lying badly injured in the house and were immediately rushed to the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Ichalkaranji. They were later shifted to a private hospital in Kolhapur.

Although the exact cause is not yet known, domestic issue is believed to have caused the quarrel.
