Light isolated rains in HP

Shimla, July 22 (UNI) Light to moderate rains lashed a few isolated places in Himachal Pradesh during the last 24 hrs even as overcast conditions are prevailing over the entire state, the met office said.

Sundernagar in Mandi district recorded 37.3 mm of rain followed by 31 mm at Una town, 15.4 mm at Shimla, 2.4 mm at Kalpa in Kinnuar and 1.2 mm rain at Bhuntar in Kullu district.

Shimla town also experienced intermittent rain during the last 24 hrs and overcast conditions were prevailing here and other adjoining areas, while the famous tourist resort of Manali was experienced light showers.

The met office said overcast conditions are prevailing over Kinnuar, Lahaul Spiti, Chamba and Kullu after experiencing light showers in the morning.

The minimum and maximum temperatures in the entire state remained stationary during the last 24 hrs with the town recording a day temperature of 21.8 and night temperature of 15.5 degree Celsius, said.

Sundernagar, Bhuntar and Kalpa recorded day temperatures of 31.1, 30.8 and 19.4 degrees as compared to 31.4, 30 and 19.5 degree Celsius recorded yesterday, it said.

The minimum temperature at Sundernagar, Bhuntar, and Kalpa was 21.1, 20.6 and 12.2 degree Celsius respectively in comparison to 23, 21 and 12.2 degree Celsius recorded yesterday.

The met office has predicted rains followed by thundershowers at many places in the state during the next 24 hrs.
