Hot and humid conditions return to Capital
New Delhi, July 22 (UNI) Sultry weather conditions prevailed in the city today after light rains yesterday brought some relief from hot and humid conditions of over the past few days.
The maximum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 35.5 degrees Celsius and the minimum remained at 27.3 degrees. The maximum and minimum relative humidity was 91 and 61 per cent respectively.
The Met office has forecast more rainfall in the next few days under the influence of a Monsoon trough extending from Bihar to Central Bay of Bengal in lower tropospheric levels.
''The current meteorological analysis suggests scattered to fairly widespread rainfall is likely over Western Himalayan region and adjoining Northern plains during the next 3-4 days,'' the Met office said.
Some heavy rainfall in the city and other plains of Northwest India is also likely towards the beginning of the next week.
''Fairly widespread rainfall activity is likely over plains of Northwest India from the afternoon of July 24,'' the Met office said.
During the next 24 hours, a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain and thundershowers is expected, it added.
