Cong to raise deteroriating law and order in MP Assly
Bhopal, July 22 (UNI) The Opposition Congress will raise a number of issues during the monsoon session of Madhya Pradesh Assembly including an adjournment notice on police failure, deteriorating law and order situation and ministers indulging in corruption.
Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Jamuna Devi told reporters here today that law and order situation in the state had collapsed, while the interference of the Sangh Parivar in government work was increasing.
She said an adjournment notice would be served on police failure to nab culprits in journalist Pawan Jain's murder case in Bhopal. An adjournment motion would also be brought on the death of tribal due to police firing in Jhabua district and the role of Sangh Parivar.
Ms Devi explained that the assembly session began on July 18 but there was vacation in between due to Presidential elections. As such, she was informing about the issues to be raised today.
Among other issues to raised included problem of seed, manure, power and water to farmers, attack on Christian community in Rewa, Narsinghgarh and other places, police lathicharge on 'Gurujis' in Bhopal, compensation to those affected by Omkareshwar project and payment to sugarcane growers.
Expressing concern over decreasing number of sittings of the House, she alleged that the government wanted to avoid discussion.
She claimed that scheduled sittings had never been completed during the three-and-half-year BJP rule.
Alleging that Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi was the most corrupt minister, Ms Devi said health services had collapsed and funds were being misused by procuring poor quality medicines.
She expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of 'Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan' and said construction of buildings under the scheme was not being carried out. Several buildings were incomplete and even Union HRD Minister Arjun Singh had expressed dissatisfaction.
