80 per cent voted in Haldia Municipal polls so far

Midnapore, Jul 22 (UNI) About 80 per cent of the voters today exercised their franchise in elections to the municipality in Haldia district so far.

Official sources said the voting process was going on peacefully.

Meanwhile, about 1,500 people had assembled on the banks of Haldi river on the outskirts of Nandigram to demonstrate against the CPI (M).

The agitators raised slogans and urged the people to vote against the CPI (M) in the large numbers.
