4 taken for questioning on bribing petitioner

Kochi, Jul 22 (UNI) Police today took four people for interrogation for allegedly trying to bribe a petitioner to withdraw his litigation.

Police rounded up the quartet for allegedly trying to bribe a litigant to withdraw his case in connection with the Kerala Government's decision to withdraw tenders to convert registration and licence books into smart cards.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan here said the tender was withdrawn as there was some 'controversy' in calling for tenders for the project.
