Tamil Nadu: 4 kids drown in pond

Salem, Tamil Nadu, July 21: Four children drowned in a percolation pond at the foothills of Kanajamalai Hills this morning.

Police said, Ajeeth Kumar (8), Soundarajan (8), Karthi (7) and an unidentified boy aged eight were playing near the pond as today was a holiday.

Due to heavy rainfall in the last two days, the pond was full.

The mishap occurred when the boys entered the waters.

The parents who were searching for their children as they not had returned home for long, were shocked to find the bodies floating on the water.
