39 booked for forgery
Siddharthnagar, July 22 (UNI) Five bank employees and 39 others were booked for siphoning off Rs 1.25 crore from Punjab National Bank at the district headquarters here today.
On the complaint of the bank manager Rakesh Kumar, a case was registered against former bank manager Rajeev Kumar, incluing four other bank employees and 34 account holders, police sources said.
This plan was materialised in the year 2003-05, where Rs 1.25 crore were siphoned off in the name of 34 account holders, which was later withdrawn by them.
After the matter came to light, an official inquiry was initiated under which a case of forgery was registered against the accused.
So far no arrest had been made.
