2 killed, 21 injured as fishing boats capsize

Kasaragod, Kerala, July 22 (UNI) Two fishermen drowned and 21 others injured, when their country crafts capsized after hitting a rock at Kottikulam near Backel here today.

According to district control room, the deceased were identified as Mohanan (40) and Radhakrishnan (40), both hailing from the nearby areas.

Thirty-five fishermen in four country boats ventured into the sea for fishing off Thrikkannad coast.

While 21 fishermen were rescued by their counterparts, two drowned.

The injured were admitted to a private hospital here.
