Bhopal, July 21: Vishwa Hindu Parishad Secretary General Pravin Togadia today alleged that the Congress-led UPA government held double standards on issues relating to minority Muslims vis-a-vis the majority community.

This was evident from Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh's comment that he had to spend sleepless nights thinking what was going on the family of Dr Mohammad Haneef, a suspect in the failed bomb blast at London's Glasglow airport, Dr Togadia told reporters here today.

On the other hand, he said, the government maintained a calculated silence on more than 10,000 army and police personnel, besides 70,000 civilians falling victim to terrorist violence in Jammu and Kashmir.

''Is such casualties insufficient to make him sleepless'', snapped Dr Togadia.

Hitherto, the Centre maintained that there was no involvement of Indian Muslims in global terrorism, but Glasgow incident confirmed their participation, the VHP leader said.

''The VHP was against allotment of Rs 500 crore aid to Madrasas as it was believed that Madrasas were imparting Jehadi training'', he added.
