Two pro-talk DHD cadres killed, one injured in Black Widow attack

Silchar, Jul 21 (UNI) Two militants of the pro-talk faction of the Dima Halam Daoga (DHD) were killed and another was critically injured when Black Widow faction sprayed bullets targeting a house.

The incident took place at Longlacherra near Jaipur in Cachar district of Assam late last night.

Police said on Friday night a group of about 15 DHD (G) militants, armed with AK series of rifles, started indiscriminate firing at the house in Longlacherra village near Cachar's border with North Cachar Hill district, where a number of pro-talk DHD cadres were staying for sometime.

The injured was undergoing treatment in Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

Bodies of the two militants were brought to the same hospital for post-mortem, said police.

Soon after the incident, senior police, CRPF and Army officials rushed to the place, about 45 km from here and started a massive hunt for the assailants.

A senior police officer said it was also being examined on what circumstances the pro-talk militants were staying in a private house when they were to live in designated camps under the provisions of the outfit's ceasefire agreement with the Centre.
