Thespian Sivaji remembered on death anniversary
Chennai, July 21: Tamil film industry led by film actors, including former Rajya Sabha member and President of the South Indian Film Artistes Association, Saratkumar, paid floral tributes to late thespian Sivaji Ganesan at the association premises here today, to mark sixth death anniversary.
Scores of his fans and others including members of the 'Sivaji Sanuga Nalaperavai' led by their President Chandrasekaran garlanded the actor's statue on the Marina to mark the occassion.
At the Congress party headquarters 'Sathyamoorthy Bhavan', Congress Legislative Party leader C Sudarsanam and others paid floral tributes to a portrait of the late actor. Also a politician, Sivaji was associated with the Congress party for decades before parting ways and launching his own outfit.
His family and fans also launched a programme of feeding the poor at the famous Siva temple in south Chennai to mark the occasion.
