New Delhi, Jul 21: Bringing the three-day old sensational 'drama' on the threat to blow up the Parliament, police have arrested a 19-year-old from his Vikas Nagar residence in West Delhi.

Minto Kumar Mahto, who while claiming to be an al Qaeda member had threatened to blow up the Parliament on or before August 15, was picked from Panchsheel Enclave in Vikas Nagar residence, said DCP (Special Cell) Alok Kumar.

''The arrest last night came after several hours of telephonic surveillance. He had called up the PCR on Thursday (July 19) from a mobile phone and besides threatening had thrown an open challenge to catch him if you can,'' he said adding that investigations revealed that the phone belonged to his brother and the SIM to his friend.

''The instrument has been seized from the possession of the accused, a Class XII pass teenager.'' Also, he has been medically examined which shows that he is not mentally ill. Perhaps he did it to create sensation, the DCP added.
