Police shoots down two criminals after chase

Hansi (Hisar) July 21 (UNI) Police chased and shot dead two motorbike-borne criminals near here after they opened fire on the police party.

SP Srikant Jadhav told newspersons here today that a police party, on a tip-off that three wanted criminals were going on a motorcycle to village Pichopa, chased them and asked them to stop near the naka.

However, they first tried to speed away and when the police obstructed them, opened fire.

In the retaliatory fire by the police, Mukesh Tely and Sandeep Dhanak were killed and the third rider Raju was arrested.

Raju revealed that they were on way to meet a girl Suman who was staying with the uncle of Mukesh Tely in the village village Pichopa, whom he was going to meet.

The police later arrested her also.

Mr Jadhav said, these criminals were wanted in half a dozen cases of murders and robberies. After two daylight murders of traders in Hansi recently, the policehad stepped up the search for them.

Three pistols were recovered.
