Mah electricity distribution illegally recovering Rs 125 cr pm
Kolhapur, July 21 (UNI) Maharashtra State Electricity Consumer Sanghatana (MSECS) president Pratap Hogade today charged that the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDC) was recovering additional about Rs 125 crore per month illegally from consumers by violating Maharashtra Electricity Regularity Commission (MERC) order.
Addressing a press conference here Mr Hogade said that the MSEDC was recovering about Rs 60 crore per month under the head of 'prompt payment discount' and 'load factor incentive' out of the total illegal recovery from May this year.
Calculating suitable meaning MERC norms regarding additional supply charge (ASC), captive electricity generating consumers MSEDC was wrongly collecting Rs 60 to 65 crore from industrial consumers, Mr Hogade, who is State Janata (secular) general secretary said on behalf of MSEDC and Janata Dal has challenged this illegal recovery.
MERC will he hearing this matter on July 24, he added.
