Goldstone ties up with Shemaroo to source Indian movies

Mumbai, July 21 (UNI) Goldstone Technologies Limited, a leading provider of Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), has tied up with Shemaroo, one of the largest names in Indian home entertainment, to source its Hindi and other Indian regional movie content. According to a Goldstone release here, the agreement involves 500 Hindi movies over a period of five years. Goldstone will broadcast Hindi songs, regional Indian movies, assorted scenes and other non-movie content.

The content will be available on Goldstone's patented technology for Triple Play services, which delivers quality video at only 600 kbps internet speed. The Triple Play service is one of the world's first to function seamlessly on the internet.

Mr Nandan Kundetakar, Director, Goldstone Technologies says, ''We believe there is a huge market for content of this nature, not just in the Indian subcontinent, but also worldwide. The tie up with Shemaroo will greatly enhance our portfolio of services, which is already on par with best global standards.'' Other than India, Goldstone is spread across Europe, China, Sri Lanka and Nepal where IPTV is catching up rapidly. According to the estimates of US-based Multimedia Research Group Inc, the number of global IPTV subscribers will grow from 14.3 million in 2007 to 63.6 million in 2011, a compound annual growth rate of 45 per cent. With excellent demographics and changing outlook of entertainment, China and India are regarded as emerging powerhouse markets for IPTV providers, the release said.
