CM to launch 3rd phase of stipend to jobless on Jul 29

Chennai, July 21 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi will launch the third phase of stipend distribution for unemployed youth in the city on July 29.

According to an official release here tonight, 3.38 lakh youths would be beneficiaries in the third leg of the scheme. The first phase was launched on November 11, 2006, at Tiruchirapalli and the second phase at Coimbatore on February 24.

Under this scheme, a monthly stipend of Rs 150 would be extended to unemployed students who have passed 10th standard and registered their names with the employment offices over a period of five years.

The dole amount is Rs 200 for those cleared Plus Two and Rs 300 for Under Graduates and Post Graduates.

The Ministers would be launching the third phase in other cities and districts simultaneously, the release added.
