Bhagwati Hospital's staff comes under Mah Govt: BMC

Mumbai, July 21 (UNI) The mortuary at Bhagwati hospital in Borivali West belongs to Maharashtra government and not to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The Corporation, in a release here today, said the equipment belongs to the state government and the land merely belongs to the BMC and is leased to them.

The staff of the mortuary come under the state government and not the BMC, it said.

The staff had allegedly demanded money from the next of the kin of the deceased, who were killed in the seven-storeyed 'Laxmi Chhaya' building collapse.

Centres like these come under the jurisdiction of the police surgeon and the surgeon in this case has suspended 4 people in this regard.
