Imphal, Jul 21 (UNI) An all-party delegation will leave for New Delhi within the next few days to demand maintenance of status quo in the present Assembly structure in Manipur.

There are 60 Assembly constituencies in Manipur.

The representatives of the political parties discussed the matter yesterday in a meeting, presided over by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh.

Official sources said the Delimitation Commission wanted to complete the exercise by October 31.

Problems cropped up in Manipur as some discrepancies were found in the 2001 census, where ''abnormal growth of population'' was recorded.

Meanwhile, representatives of various political parties would again meet today to draft a memorandum to be submitted to the Commission.

There might be problems in adjusting the constituencies in Manipur as the correct census figure was not yet available.

The meeting of all political parties was attended by representatives of the Congress, Manipur People's Party (MPP), CPI, CPI(M), BJP, Janata Dal(S), Janata Dal(U), Samajwadi Party and NCP, sources added.
