3 TN NGOs to get grants from Japan Govt

Chennai, July 21: Three Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) will receive grants from the Government of Japan to undertake welfare projects to uplift the disadvantaged.

Society for Serving Humanity (SSH), League for Education and Development (LEAD) and Amar Seva Sangam (ASS) from Tamil Nadu, would receive funds, Office of the Consulate-General of Japan said in a release here today.

SSH would receive 84,832 dollars for construction of its own building, LEAD would get 85,830 dollars to impart training of the home-based rehabilitation, while ASS would receive USD 85,700 to offer education to physically-challenged children.

The Japanese grant, formally called the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP), is an official assistance scheme funded by the Government of Japan.

The funds would be released to the respective NGOs at a function here on July 25, the release added.
