Vigilance submits chargesheet in three corruption cases
Patna, July 20 (UNI) Bihar State Vigilance Investigation Bureau today submitted chargesheet in the court of special judge Sunil Kumar Panwar against 12 people including two private secretaries of ministers in three separate cases of corruption.
The first chargesheet was submitted against nine people including Awadh Lal and Viresh Kumar Sinha--the former private secretaries of the then minister of Revenue and Land reforms department of Bihar.
The case was related to financial irregularities of Rs 65 lakhs committed by the accused during 1990-95.
The second chargesheet was submitted against Purusottam Mishra, an assistant electrical engineer and Harshvardhan Upadhyay, a correspondence clerk of the electricity department. According to the charges, accused were arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 1.28 lakhs for granting electric connection in a multi-storied building on May 22, 2007.
The third chargesheet was against Ishwari Prasad Verma, an employee of state forest and environment department.The case was related to financial irregularities of over Rs 4.97 lakhs in Bihar forestry division, Nawada during 1986-88.
