Ambarish would re-enter politics if necessary

Mysore, July 20 (UNI) Kannada cine actor turned politician, Member of Parliament and former Union Minister for Information, Ambarish today said that he would reenter into state politics, if the former Karnataka Chief Minister and Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna entered into active politics.

Talking to newspersons here, he said as a follower of Mr Krishna, he would like to enter into politics, though he had stated earlier that he would not like to contest the election again.

Mr Ambarish said his resignation as a MP, as well as from the Union Ministry was not accepted by the Speaker so far. He would, however, urge Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee to accept his resignation, he added.

He said he had exercised his franchise in the Presidential poll, as the election was being held once in five years. Similarly, he would caste his vote in the election for the Vice President, too, he added.

It may be recalled that Mr Ambarish, who represented the Mandya Constituency, had resigned in protest against the Cauvery Water Dispute Final Award announcement in February. Later, he participated in the Cauvery agitation.
