Toll in monsoon-related incidents rises to 18

Kozhikode, July 19 (UNI) With the recovery of three more bodies today, the toll in monsoon-related incidents in the worst-affected Kozhikode district of Kerala rose to 18.

District administration sources said bodies of Aneesh (22), Faizal (22) and Rarichan (69) were recovered from Nanmuda, Vengeri and Kakkodi in the district.

Meanwhile, the sources said those housed in relief camps had started returning to their residences after the rain waters receded.

As many as 2,500 people were evacuated from low-lying areas and accommodated in nearly 90 relief camps at various parts of the district, the sources added.
