TCS, Infosys, Wipro among 20 best employers

New Delhi, July 19 (UNI) Tata Consultancy Services along with Infosys Technologies and Wipro Technologies were today adjudged among the best employers in India by software and services industry association, Nasscom.

Other companies which figured in Nasscom's list of 20 best employers for FY06-07 were HCL Technologies, Cognizant, Satyam Computer Services, Hewlett Packard, Genpact, Oracle, Intelenet Global Services, WNS Global Services, Mphasis, Patni Computer Systems, Convergys, Firstsource Solutions, Sutherland Global Services, Citigroup Global Services, Aegis BPO Services, ExlService Holdings and L&T Infotech.

These 20 companies collectively employ over 5,00,000 people of the 1.6 million employed directly in the industry.

Nasscom President Kiran Karnik said that the country's IT-ITeS industry is largest employment generator in the organised sector creating jobs for over 7.5 million people both directly and indirectly, and the figure is expected to cross 10 million by 2010.

Healthy growth environment, attractive remuneration and different kinds of employment opportunities in the new economy based on varying skill sets, and above all the availability of talent in India which meets the employment projections have led to this, he added.
